About

Deep roots, a wider horizon.

Square Mile Development is a U.S.-focused real estate developer and investor with roots in Greater Vancouver. We build with a focus on craftsmanship, honesty, and the long view — across multifamily, commercial, and industrial. After a decade and roughly 750 homesin British Columbia, the United States is where we're building next.

Since 2016

The company began with a straightforward idea — develop the kind of real estate we'd be proud to own and stand behind.

When Square Mile was founded in 2016, Greater Vancouver was in the middle of a building boom. A lot of what went up in those years was fast. We decided, from the beginning, to take a different pace — fewer projects, better materials, and a team that stays involved from the first drawing to the last detail.

Across British Columbia we've delivered roughly 750 homes— single-family, townhome communities, and multifamily — alongside commercial and industrial work like tilt-up business parks and fuel-and-convenience retail, from White Rock and South Surrey to Langley, Delta, and beyond. We stay deliberately hands-on: every project is overseen by one of us, designed in-house, and built to a standard we'll stand behind for decades.

That track record is now the foundation for our next chapter. We're expanding into the United States — Washington and Idaho in the Pacific Northwest, and Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi in the South — pursuing workforce and multifamily housing, build-to-suit and net-lease commercial, and other income-producing real estate in growing markets. With design handled in-house and a build-to-hold strategy, we approach these markets the way we always have: patiently, and for the long term.

“The best compliment we get is a call from a homeowner, three winters in, telling us everything still feels right.”

Values

Trust, craft, and the long relationship.

We believe in honesty in every decision, in clear and careful communication, and in the kind of quality that earns its keep slowly — through materials that age well, details that were thought through, and hands that knew what they were doing.

We are long-term stakeholders in the places we build. Good development isn't an isolated project — it strengthens the street, serves the community around it, and earns its place for the people who live and work there.

And when we hand over the keys, we stay in touch. We believe customer care begins after move-in, not before — and we measure ourselves by how quickly we pick up the phone.
